SA team in the MMD commercial kitchen6 April 2025 – SA – On the first Saturday night in April, members of the Order of Saint Lazarus in South Australia volunteered for their first of two dinner services at Mary Mags Dinners. The Order has volunteered several times previously in 2023 and 2024, so this is becoming a familiar aspect of the life of the Commandery.

5 April 2025 – Tas – This year the Tasmanian Commandery has once again elected to maintain its strong support of cancer care in Tasmania at the Gibson Unit, Calvary St John’s Hospital, and the Whittle Unit, Royal Hobart Hospital. Support for palliative care has been a key focus of the Commandery since 1988 and approximately $10,000 has been allocated annually for this support.

3 April 2025 – Tas – Initially two current Tasmanian Commandery members, Mr Dallas Williams CLJ and Dr Terry McCarthy OLJ, and Dallas’ wife Dr Helen Williams, were Directors of a voluntary network financing and enabling a programme to facilitate multiply and severely disadvantaged refugees and community members, who were without the capacity or background to enter university, to gain free university entry, the skills required, and study support.

1 April 2025 – ACT – The Major beneficiary of our fundraising goes to support the L’Arche Genesarat (see www.mycommunitydirectory.com.au/ Australian_Capital_Territory).  L’Arche Genesaret is a Community of people with and without intellectual disability, sharing life in Community, belonging to an International Federation. We help build a community where people with and without disabilities experience a place of belonging and welcome.

1 April 2024 – SA – The South Australian Commandery has been busy with its charitable work.  One of the organisations they support is Puddle Jumpers, a non-profit, non-government organisation committed to responding to the social development needs of society’s most vulnerable children and young people. They believe that all kids matter and deserve the right to engage in happy and fun experiences in their life.
