27 August 2026 – Victoria – What a wonderful evening it was to welcome our new members to the Victorian Commandery of the Order of St Lazarus.
Members and guests began arriving at the West Brighton Club at 6.30 pm, gathering in the reception room where we were greeted with a glass of bubbly and some scrumptious canapés. It was immediately apparent that this was going to be a relaxed and happy evening.

9 June 2026 – The Tasmanian Commandery hosted their Winter Dinner at the University of Tasmania Club in Sandy Bay, Hobart.
June 2026 – The Victorian Commandery held its Gala Dinner at Ormond College on Saturday 18 April to help raise funds for the Green Cross Project and specifically its mobile medical and health units.

5 December 2025 – Victoria – At 6.00pm on the 5th December 2025, the Victorian Commandery, in full regalia, entered St Peter’s Eastern Hill to a service to
celebrate the Feast of St Lazarus.
19 November 2025 – Western Australia – After several years, the Western Australian Commandery has once again provided another scholarship for the training of indigenous students at the University of Notre Dame Australia.
15 November 2025 – Western Australia – The Western Australian Commandery has distributed $20,000 to several deserving charitable organisations for 2025, each of which is carrying out vital work within the community
1 October 2025 – Victoria – Over the past five years, members of the Order of St Lazarus of Jerusalem – Victorian Commandery have raised funds to support the work of the Spafford Centre in Jerusalem. During this time, the Order has contributed over $80,000 to this project.
30 September 2025 – Victoria – For over a decade, the Order of St Lazarus – Victorian Commandery has provided significant funding to Anglicare’s Lazarus Centre Breakfast Program at St Peter’s Eastern Hill.
23 August 2025 – Victoria – The Victorian Commandery hosted a successful fundraising luncheon on Saturday 23 August, 2025 at the historic Christ Church, South Yarra. The event brought together members, supporters, and friends of the Order in an atmosphere of fellowship and service reflecting the Order’s long tradition of charitable outreach.
12 August 2025 – Tasmania – The Most Reverend Anthony Ireland was recently installed as Archbishop of Hobart.
The installation occurred at St Mary’s Cathedral in Hobart with a capacity congregation.
16 May 2025 – Queensland – The Queensland Commandery invites members, their family and friends to the Italian Long Lunch on Sunday 25 May from 12pm to 3pm at the ANFE Italian Club in Stafford. Tickets are $130 per person and are available to purchase at the following website:

6 April 2025 – SA – On the first Saturday night in April, members of the Order of Saint Lazarus in South Australia volunteered for their first of two dinner services at Mary Mags Dinners. The Order has volunteered several times previously in 2023 and 2024, so this is becoming a familiar aspect of the life of the Commandery.
5 April 2025 – Tas – This year the Tasmanian Commandery has once again elected to maintain its strong support of cancer care in Tasmania at the Gibson Unit, Calvary St John’s Hospital, and the Whittle Unit, Royal Hobart Hospital. Support for palliative care has been a key focus of the Commandery since 1988 and approximately $10,000 has been allocated annually for this support.
3 April 2025 – Tas – Initially two current Tasmanian Commandery members, Mr Dallas Williams CLJ and Dr Terry McCarthy OLJ, and Dallas’ wife Dr Helen Williams, were Directors of a voluntary network financing and enabling a programme to facilitate multiply and severely disadvantaged refugees and community members, who were without the capacity or background to enter university, to gain free university entry, the skills required, and study support.
1 April 2025 – ACT – The Major beneficiary of our fundraising goes to support the L’Arche Genesarat (see www.mycommunitydirectory.com.au/ Australian_Capital_Territory). L’Arche Genesaret is a Community of people with and without intellectual disability, sharing life in Community, belonging to an International Federation.
1 April 2024 – Victoria – For several years, the Victorian Commandery has provided financial support to the Green Cross Project Inc (GCPI). This financial support (coupled with additional assistance from key Victorian Commandery members) has helped GCPI purchase a new vehicle and refurbish it into a mobile clinic.
1 April 2024 – SA – The South Australian Commandery has been busy with its charitable work. One of the organisations they support is Puddle Jumpers, a non-profit, non-government organisation committed to responding to the social development needs of society’s most vulnerable children and young people. They believe that all kids matter and deserve the right to engage in happy and fun experiences in their life.
